HOW TO DEAL WITH NEGATIVE ENERGY AROUND YOU
Written by, Olayemi Joel
Humans are wired physiologically
to develop mental and physical capabilities through the things that happen
within their environment and the kind of people they interact with.
At each and every point in your life,
you must be able to be conscious of the kind of energy you permit into your
life. A lot of times, we have been held spell-bound to the same position and
situation in life because of the kind of energy we permit into our lives. Take
for instance, physics thought us that there is what is called positive energy
and there is what it called negative energy. It’s brilliant that they are
called this way. It makes this part of the discussion a lot interesting.
Without going into details about terms in physics that relates to energy, we
can, in a nutshell, describe positive energy as the energy that adds to a
substance or a recipient. Also, it is safe to describe negative energy as the
energy that deducts or takes away from a substance or a recipient. And whatever
these recipients or substances become is a function of the energy they accept.
In life, you and I are recipients of energies.
There is all manner of negatives energy around us that we must decide to deal
with. When you are fired from your job, that’s a negative energy. When you
fail, it’s a negative energy. When someone says you can’t make it in life, it
is a negative energy. However, General semantics teaches that we must become
conscious and always be in awareness of the wholeness of these energies around
us and that we must be able to extract the positive in whatever negativity
that comes around us in lives. You must be able to see negative events as the
stage that comes before you reach the success you have been looking forward to.
At this point, you must be able to say to yourself that “I’m in charge of
situations in my life.”]
Here’s a deeply thoughtful quote
that concludes this: “If you are distressed by anything external (be it of
negative energy), the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your
estimation of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.” Marcus Aurelius
